We test all software by installing it, and running it on several different computers. Each is running a different operating system. Depending on which platforms the software claims to be available for, we test it on Windows 95, 98 versions I and II, ME, 2000, NT and XP. Each test is run by a different individual. The software is tested for stability, reliability, and if it does what the provider claims it does. It is also tested to determine if it is nagware, shareware, expiration or undue limitations. We also scan it for viruses. Then we run a spyware detector on the computer on which it is installed before and after testing. This allows us to determine if there is hidden spyware included in the package that is not announced in the documentation. (Since spyware can be defined in many ways and is not illegal, if they inform you of it's presence, in some benign form, we do not disqualify it under those circumstances). Only if the software passes these tests is it allowed to be included in our database. It should also be noted that the vast majority of software we test is rejected under these strict rules. This is why the software we provide is the highest quality on the web. Many of the titles we offer we use ourselves on our network and workstations. There is no better endorsement than when we use them ourselves.
